It’s unfair to expect Heinz to forfeit their own popularity in order to tackle homophobia – it’s not their fault that people complained. They bowed to homophobic consumer pressure in withdrawing the ad, yes, but then they are a company which is supposed to make a profit.
After all, they created the advert, which shows a positive image of two men kissing. Gotta say, I don’t think Heinz are to blame here.
